Dear Students,

This announcement is to inform you about the syllabus, assessment criteria, and mandatory requirements for the ME403 – Mechanical System Design Project course.

Grading Breakdown

The final grade for the course will be calculated as follows:

  • Project Report: 40%
  • Academic Advisor Evaluation: 30%
  • Final Project Presentation: 20%
  • Participation in Mandatory Activities: 10%

Project Report

  • The report format is available in Moodle. 
  • All sub-sections listed in the report template are mandatory and must be included in your submission.
  • If any required subsection is missing, no points will be awarded for that part, regardless of the overall quality of the report.

Presentations

Students are required to attend:

  • The presentation to their project advisors (date will be announced by the project advisors), 
  • The final project presentation scheduled on 19 January 2026.
  • Attendance is mandatory for both presentations.
  • Students who fail to attend without a valid medical report will not be eligible for a make-up examination.

Presentations will be evaluated according to the following criteria:

  • Content
  • Coherence & Organization
  • Speaking Skills
  • Length of Presentation & Appearance 
  • Questions & Answers

Make-Up Presentation Policy

  • A make-up presentation will be granted only in cases supported by an official medical report.
  • Students taking the make-up presentation will be responsible for the entire project and all presentation content, without any exceptions.

Please make sure to carefully follow all guidelines and deadlines, as these requirements will be strictly applied.
