Enrolment options

This course is designed to help students learn the basic concepts in the major areas of social psychology. Specific areas to be covered include perception of people and events, attitudes and social influence, and social interaction and relationships. The aim is to introduce students to a range of research and theories in classic and contemporary social psychology, and to have students develop intellectual skills in the critical analysis of social psychological theories and in the evaluation of empirical research. The interrelationships of the functioning of social systems, the behavior and attitudes of individuals, current theories and research.

The students who succeeded in this course;

  • Define social psychology and related terminology.
  • Explain daily social behavior by means of social psychological theories and concepts.
  • Gain knowledge of the self, social beliefs and judgments, attitude and behavior, persuasion and social influence
  • Critically analyze and assess the theories, research methods and findings of social psychology
  • Discuss the generalizability of the social psychological research to different cultures and times.
