The central basis of ELIT 107 is to help students both develop and practice the grammatical features of the English language, and use them accurately by revising grammar topics to achieve an advanced level of English for their undergraduate and graduate studies. The course also focuses on doing exercises and writing argument-led/thesis-driven, well-organized essays to express their ideas and knowledge. Furthermore, the course aims at expanding the range and accuracy of their academic vocabulary, and improving their approach to thinking, reading, speaking, and writing, such that they are able to use language skillfully in their studies in English Language and Literature.
