The aim of this course is to provide a historically informed analytical framework so as to understand the causes, mechanisms and consequences of economic crises. For this aim, this course contains three modules. The first examines different explanations that originate from various economic schools on the subject, and the discussion on typologies of crisis. The second focuses on those relatively more impactful economic crises that shaped the course of world economic development. Third module is devoted to the history of economic crises in Turkey.
